Hernan Valle Inga has been producing coffee, among other crops, for 22 years at Agua Blanca. He is a member of COOPBAM, a "certified fair trade and organic coffee cooperative with more than 500 members who commit to sustainably using natural resources in the Alto Mayo Protected Forest and to zero net deforestation."
The Alto Mayo protected forest spans the border between the San Martin and Amazonas departments of northern Peru. It is home to a large cross-section of native Peruvian wildlife and some of the country’s last undiscovered coffee.
