This just in: We are matcha makers

This is the moment that some of you have been waiting for: We are now matcha makers.

If you frequent our coffee bars, we hope that you find that we are deliberate with what we make and how we make it. We try not to come off pretentious. But we really do think and test and recalibrate and carefully prepare all of the drinks we make. Nothing – or at least, very little – is willy-nilly. 

It may sound silly, because you have been able to get matcha at similar coffee bars around town but ... We have wrestled with matcha, on and off, for a few years. Trying to find a product we really liked. Trying to find an efficient way to serve it. So on and so forth. 

The requests reached a fever pitch. And then we found a seasonal matcha recipe we liked and served it for a month. And the demand blew us away. 

So now, for the first time in East Pole's eight-year coffee bar history, matcha is served, for good. 

Stop in, try it. High-five a barista. Pet a dog on the patio. Strut into work, green drink in hand. Send some emails. Take some notes in meetings. And then... come back for an iced matcha around 3 pm or so. High-five a barista. Bring one back for your work bestie.

These are the dreams we had when we finally matched with matcha.
