After offering only single-origin coffees to our customers, A Cup of Cheer is our first blend! Needless to say, this is a big moment for us at East Pole Coffee Co.
Though we knew it would be fun to offer a holiday blend, we agreed to launch it only if the blend was greater than the sum of its individual coffee beans.
After tinkering, experimenting, and testing a few pairings and ratios, we landed on a blend of two excellent coffees that bring out the best in each other: La Villa de Don Juan, an anaerobic natural coffee from Colombia, and a natural Ethiopian that we haven’t released yet (stay tuned)!
It truly is a festive coffee: the palate is filled with sweet red fruits, mulling spices, citrus, and vanilla cream; and the finish is long, complex, and evolving. It is a wonderful coffee that, like the beans blended in the bag, is best enjoyed in the company of others. It is crushable, festive, and warming, like any good Cup of Cheer should be.
