About the Producer:
This washed Guatemalan lot comes to us from Aurelio Villatoro’s Finca La Esperanza, nestled in the high valley of Hoja Blanca, Huehuetenango—just a stone’s throw from the Mexican border. Aurelio, a mechanic-turned-coffee producer with an infectious energy and meticulous eye for detail, has turned his family’s legacy into a celebrated name in Guatemalan coffee. His commitment to selective picking, precise fermentation, and careful drying results in beautifully clean and expressive coffees.
What's in the Cup:
In the cup, you’ll find dark chocolate and dried fruits layered with rich toffee and roasted cashew. A creamy orange undertone lends brightness and balance, leading to a gently drying finish. This is a wonderfully complex offering from one of our favorite producing families—honest, comforting, and beautifully crafted from start to finish.
