This vibrant Kenyan coffee hails from the Gondo Factory, nestled in the lush foothills of the Aberdare Mountains in Murang’a County. Operated by the New Kiriti Farmers’ Cooperative Society, Gondo brings together 727 smallholder farmers, each cultivating coffee on half-acre plots. Their meticulous attention to detail—from handpicking ripe cherries to careful fermentation and drying on raised beds—results in a cup that’s both expressive and refined.
Expect an aromatic brew that fills the room with notes of dried citrus and caramel. On the palate, it delivers a juicy medley of tropical fruits and ripe berries, rounded out by a smooth butterscotch finish. As an espresso, it shines with bright, vibrant acidity and a silky mouthfeel. For optimal extraction, we recommend grinding slightly coarser than usual.
Thanks to our partners at Red Fox Coffee Merchants, we were able to bring in this exceptionally fresh lot swiftly. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience this standout Kenyan offering.
