The wait is over — Ethiopia season is here, and we’re kicking it off with a showstopper.
Grown high in the misty mountains of Sidamo, this washed lot from the Bochessa community in Arbegona is sweet, vibrant, and irresistibly drinkable. With flavors of sun-cooked apricot, brown sugar, and ripe apple, it’s got the comfort of a warm pie with the clarity and sparkle we chase in southern Ethiopian coffees. Think juicy, malic acidity and a clean, fruit-forward finish that lingers just long enough.
Behind the cup is a tight-knit community of smallholder farmers — many of whom deliver cherry on horseback or by motorbike to a central washing station nestled among the hills. Their meticulous attention to process, from fermentation to slow drying on raised beds, comes through in every sip.
This coffee is a love letter to Arbegona: rich soil, high altitude, and deep tradition — all coming together in one sweet, elegant cup. We're thrilled to share it.
While it does make for a vibrant and exciting espresso, we'd recommend highlighting this offering on filter brews like a V60 to highlight the clarity and sweetness of the coffee!
